PostSubject: New to the site from Ashe-vegas    Mon May 21, 2012 11:05 pm

Hello everyone, moved up from Florida about 4 years ago. Suffered my 1st snow storm 3 years ago, and got my FJ the following summer. Been having a good time with it off road when I find time and people to go with. I have been up to Max Patch once and a few other little spots along the way. I just found out about this site when someone was telling me about Hurricane Creek the other day. Sadly I was a week late otherwise I would have loved to go.

As my name may suggest I am a off road "rookie" but one day in Max Patch and actually watching some videos of what my FJ can do, I am kinda geeked up at the idea of getting muddy. Hope you all decide to make a run in Max Patch or Hurricane Creek again soon.

Welcome to the forum...I'm sure folks will be back to Hurricane creek again soon...Richland Road is also in the area and folks hit that trail regularly as well.

Welcome to the group. No need to wait for our next Hurricane Creek trip, come join us in Uwharrie! Regardless of what others might say, it is very beginner friendly. Trust me, I am also a rookie. I know it might be a drive, but camp overnight. It will be worth it.

Wish I could get out that fast, however I need a bit more time to adjust schedules and such. That and I am going to have to get some new tires before I go off roading again.

Welcome! I live in Cullowhee so we are somewhat close lol. Hurricane Creek is fun but URE is a blast. It is pretty beginner friendly like the guy above me said. URE was the first place I ever wheeled and it was fun as hell.

Welcome to the forum. I am about an hour south of you in Chesnee SC. There are a few good spots to wheel like The Gulches, about 1.5 south of you, Coal Creek, also called Wind Rock in TN about 3 hours west of you and by far the best around is Harlan KY about 3.5 hours north of you.

You are welcome to stop by the shop any time.

I am here in weaverville about 10 miles north of asheville. I drive a black diamond with a 3 inch lift 255/80/17 km2 mud terrains with a pirate flag on the spare I try to wave at other fj owners. I just got a new rear end done at toyota in asheville. They are talking about starting to have toyota sponsored trail runs locally, and one at the gulches maybe. Feel free to pm or call me I go trail exploring pretty regular. There are a ton of local trails and fire roads. (828)423-1440
