I told some folks over on Facebook that I would post some pictures of the sunroof. Well here are a few.

It runs almost the full length, the front half of the glass opens to the rear. The back portion stays.

There are 4 curtains, 2 in front and 2 rear that retract

One of the things I don't like...the wind deflector is in a bad spot for adding a light bar unless it is set higher. According to the Tops and Trends folks that I talked to about the roof, this deflector is not the one that would have come with the unit. They suspect that the previous owner switched them out to reduce wind noise. Not sure if that worked for them or not since I obviously did not hear it before. It is by no means loud, but there is definitely wind noise.

That's pretty slick Scott! It'd be awesome if you could remove the glass insert for those nice spring/fall trips!

It has it's times for sure. The front that opens is very wide. At least 2.5 feet I would say, so there is a lot of open air.

The deflector would be useless with a lightbar most likely, so don't let that stop you! How is the buffeting from the side windows with the sunroof open? I don't know if you've been in a stock FJ much to compare, but I've gotta ask since it sucks stock.

Looks like they did a great job with the headliner finish. A very high quality installation. But I know the top of the FJ is kind of corrugated with some ridges and valleys to increase the strength of the top for cargo up top. Does this install mean there is a sacrifice in cargo capacity up top?
I mean obviously you can't put stuff right on the sunroof, but can you still use the cargo rack with a full load?

Wouldn't the N-Fab light bar work here? It sits very low and looks like it could extend around just out past where the deflector is:
