PostSubject: 315/75/16 Tires   Wed Feb 13, 2013 1:26 pm

Any of you running 315/75/16s? I was thinking about moving up to these when I purchase new tires, but was unsure of the fit. I have the BMC (thanks ASI), and have ICON 3" lift and LR UCAs.. I think the front should fit okay (I have 285/75/16 and have plenty of room on full articulation), but I'm a little concerned about the rear having some rubbing issues.

They are 16", 8.5" depth steelies. No idea on the make/model, got them from my brother-in-law for free and have been using them ever since.

Do you have spacers on to run them? There are very few 16" steelies (if any) that work without spacers.

If so, I would imagine the only real issue may be the rear when stuffed, but that can be trimmed a little I think.

isnt the size in question a 35x12.5?

I don't have spacers in currently but it wouldn't be a problem to get some if necessary. The tires are just shy of 35", most around 34.5

FJ Darrell is running the 35x12.50 Nittos, which are bigger than the 315's. I think he has a little rubbing, but nothing that can't be fixed. He'll chime in I'm sure.

Looks bad *** though Smile

Which tires are you looking at?

I also dont think so. Since he hasnt chimed in yet, here is one of the most fender stuffed pics I took at Gulches last time. I dont recall any real rubbing out back. Only up front as he mentioned his BMC was not aggressive enough.

Hey guys Sry, its taken me so long to chime in , work has been hectic . But to answer a few questions . ..
No, I don't have a body lift yet, although it may be in my future ...
I do get some rubbing in the front but that is to a well bmc, easily fixable just haven't gotten to it yet..
As far as the rear is concerned I haven't had any issues. And they do tuck quite nicely...
I am interested to see how everything goes with the added weight of the wench and bumpers though.

Thanks for the advice everyone. I went with tallywacker Cepek Crushers in the 315/75/16s ... as you guys said, no rubbing, even with all the added weight I have on them. They drive waaaay smoother than the Treadwright tires I had. I can't wait to try them off road.

I'm contemplating going up in lift and tire size now that I've got the power to move them... but my gas mileage is already horrible at best. I think that transition would require an auxilary tank as well haha
