| Rising gas prices are making the news every day and some reports are predicting over $5/gal gas within a couple of months. So I was just wondering what the rest of you are doing to deal with this problem. Does anyone plan to stock up on 'cheap' gas now and hand pump? Or is anyone thinking of 'Gasp!' parking their FJ's and switching to something smaller?
Also I'd love to hear what other people are thinking about the future of gas prices in general and the causes/solutions to the problem.

| Drive it under 65! Do the best I can to maximize fuel economy. Never thought of the FJ as a "sipper" so I have never been too disappointed... _________________ Contact Info: dbronson@ncfjcruisers.com

| I drive between 80-100 miles a day and only manage to get about 15-16 mpg. I plan on parking the FJ when it gets warm enough and just ride the Harley to work lol. |

| I drive around 60 each week day myself. I've tried adding Lucas oil fuel saver to the tank but no verifiable improvement yet. |

| I draft too since it really does help, especially on the highway. The gas prices are motivating me to finally replace the head gasket on my old Accord though so I can use it as a daily driver again. For now the prices aren't much of a problem because I have a work truck I drive each day (for the next few months at least). |

| Business as usuall, maybe a little slower & plan my travels a little beter.
The wife & I have a 5000 + mile trip planned for this coming Sept. Was planning on $4 a gal, I guess I'll just need to put a little more cash away. We are not changing our plans, 5 weeks vacation & condos are already paid for. Colorado Rockies, Arizona Desert, & Las Vegas here we come. |

| I'll drive my FJ if it's going to be bad weather or cold...but it'll be the motorcycle otherwise. Starting in October I will be able to get a Mini Cooper through work, so that'll be my new DD |

| I have an Ultra Gauge that tell me current MPG, Avg MPG as well as a ton of other useful info. Its helpful to keep an eye on that so I know what Im getting. Lots of GPS units have that feature too. I also agree with David. I try to keep it under 70mph. Luckily, my girlfriend has an '04 Accord that gets literally double the MPGs I get. Unfortunately, she just got a new job and we cant carpool to work anymore. lol. _________________ 2007 Black Cherry FJSylvania Silverstar Ultra Headlights : PIAA Fogs on OEM Brush Guard: Bandi Mount w/ 4' Firestik : Axe/Shovel Mount : GY Duratracs 285/70/17 : Bushwacker Fender Flares : Pioneer headunit : 12" Infinity Sub : GOBI Ladder : Blackout Hood Decal : LED Dome Lights : ARB Full Rack : Safari Snorkel w/ "Scuba Mod" : LED backup lights : Rough Country front lift w/ Day Star rear spacers : Flowmaster : LED Mirror Lights : Ricochet front and LCA skids : XD Spy wheels email: villegas15@gmail.com ] |

| I throw it in neutral occasionally when being tailgated, saves gas and makes for fun time.
I do not worry too much, it takes about 10-12 days for me to go through a tank. |

| DID YOU KNOW? Most likely the gas pump you fill up at has the E10 ethanol blend gasoline. It is reported that this reduces your fuel economy by 3-4% (even by the gov't). It's harder to find stations with 100% gasoline. We have one here in Thomasville with 100% gasoline which also happens to be where the local city vehicles / police cars fill up. It's a couple cents higher than my regular Sheetz station but I'm wondering if it is worth it. Go here for more details: http://www.fueleconomy.gov/feg/ethanol.shtml |

| So how do we find a gas station that has 100% gas? That sounds awesome. _________________ 2007 Black Cherry FJSylvania Silverstar Ultra Headlights : PIAA Fogs on OEM Brush Guard: Bandi Mount w/ 4' Firestik : Axe/Shovel Mount : GY Duratracs 285/70/17 : Bushwacker Fender Flares : Pioneer headunit : 12" Infinity Sub : GOBI Ladder : Blackout Hood Decal : LED Dome Lights : ARB Full Rack : Safari Snorkel w/ "Scuba Mod" : LED backup lights : Rough Country front lift w/ Day Star rear spacers : Flowmaster : LED Mirror Lights : Ricochet front and LCA skids : XD Spy wheels email: villegas15@gmail.com ] |

| If ethanol blends are at the pump, the pump is supposed to be marked that it contains Ethanol. Just look, you'll start noticing. North Carolina - NC (House Bill 187 passed in 2011 now requires labeling but "not enforced".) See here for all states http://www.fuel-testers.com/state_guide_ethanol_laws.html
Also note that ethanol blended gases can cause issues in leaf blower, weed eater, chainsaw and marine engines.
