A little game here. I'll PayPal $10 to the first person that can guess what kind of muffler I just put on my truck. It's 6:00 now. At 8:00 I'll end the contest and post the video of the actual muffler.

This video might make it difficult because it almost sounds stock Smile

Sounds like a Flowmaster. Maybe a 10 or 40.

I am a bit cheap - but no. This one is actually a $300 muffler. I had it leftover from my car (it was a temp fix for track days). I needed to get some clearance on the Tacoma, so I hacked off the stocker and put this there temporarily till I find a muffler I want. However, I really like this as is, so I may leave it. It's almost as quiet as stock, and gives me the most clearance I'll be able to get.....

Supertrapp. Most will call it SuperCrapp - but they're usually the ones that never ran one. You can adjust the sound and power by adding or removing the plates in the back. No drone, and very quiet in the cab - which is exactly what I wanted. I may get sick of it after a few months, but we'll see.....

Not sure about inspection - but I'm pretty sure I'll be able to pass one way or another... Smile

As much as I like it, I'm sure I'll eventually change it. I've gotta make a custom crossover pipe anyway to move the current crossover from being the lowest point on the bottom.

Although the SuperTrapp is very quiet, at highway speeds of about 75 or so, it makes more of an "air pump" type sound if that makes any sense. Almost like wind noise, or the sound of letting air out of a big tire - but a little exaggerated since it's under the truck. If it exited the rear, probably wouldn't make a sound.

Well..... disregard my last comment about the air noise. Simply removed 3 of the plates, and no more rushing air noise at highway speeds Smile

I'm trying like heck to find a reason not to like this thing!

What size is it? 2 1/2" inlet? How long is the body?

It has a 3" inlet. 2 1/2" would be the better choice, but my previous system was dual 3" pipes going into them. I had to put an adapter on to make it fit the Tacoma pipe. Even that was a pain as the Taco stock pipe is 2 3/8", which you can't find an adapter for. I had to crush the 2/12" adapter to get it to connect. It's not perfectly tight still. I figure I'll fix that should I decide to keep it.

I believe it's 19" long.

Here's another clip of it doing a slight pass by. Cell phone video, so not sure how close to reality the sound is, but it doesn't sound too ghetto Smile
